Hot Milk Cake

Pre-heat oven 325°F

Makes 1 cake


  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar


In a mixing bowl, whisk flour, baking powder and salt – set aside.

In a saucepan, med heat, add butter and milk, bring mixture to just under a boil, ensuring butter is melted. Stir in vanilla.

Using a mixer, beat eggs and sugar until volume has tripled (approx 6 minutes). Slowly add hot milk mixture until well incorporated. Add flour mixture and beat just until incorporated.

Pour in a well-greased floured bundt pan and bake at 325°F for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes prior to taking cake out of the pan.
