Forget the Spanish and Irish coffee, and try a true and tested Newfoundland Coffee. Let’s start off by brewing a pot of strong Newfoundland Screech Rum Flavored Coffee (offered through the Jumping Bean Coffee Company) and whisk-up some heavy cream (35%) for topping (don’t use the can or cool whip stuff). See recipe below for the other ingredients; this is my creation and feel free to try it. Let me know how it turns out.
- Wedge of lemon for wetting rim of mug
- Brown sugar for rimming mug
- 1¼ oz Screech Rum
- ¾ oz Grand Marnier
- ¼ oz Kahlua
- 5 oz hot strong coffee
- 2 oz 35% cream (whisk for 2 minutes)
- Pinch of nutmeg (garnish)
Rim a mug with lemon juice and dip in brown sugar.
Add Screech, Grand Marnier and Kahlua followed by the rich Newfoundland Screech Rum Flavored coffee. Top with whipped cream and garnish with a little sprinkle of nutmeg.
Now, this is a true Newfoundland coffee, sit back and enjoy a couple of Newfoundland Coffees during the Christmas season!!!!!!
